Sri Lanka – Kandy & Tea Country
This 4 Nights & 5 Days Sri Lanka Tour takes you from the elephant orphanage at Pinnawala to the hill capital of Kandy, over the Ramboda Pass into the tea estates of Nuwara Eliya, and down to the streets of Colombo. Across Pinnawala · Kandy · Ramboda · Nuwara Eliya · Colombo, the route mixes temple visits, a working tea factory, botanical gardens and a night of traditional dance, ending with time to shop before your flight home.
The tour starts at Pinnawala, home to Sri Lanka's well-known elephant orphanage, where you can watch the herd being fed and bathed by the river. From there, the road climbs to Kandy, where the following day is built around the Temple of the Tooth Relic — timed so you can catch the morning ceremony — followed by the orchid collection at the Royal Botanical Garden and an evening of traditional Kandyan dance.
Leaving Kandy, the drive to Nuwara Eliya runs through Ramboda, with stops at Ramboda Waterfall and the Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple, plus a working tea factory where you can walk the plantation and sit down for a tasting before continuing on.
In Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka's cool-climate tea country, the itinerary takes in the Seetha Amman Temple and the Hakgala Botanical Garden, set among the estates that give the region its reputation for Ceylon tea.
The tour ends in Colombo, with a city tour covering the Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green and the Independence Memorial Hall, followed by time to shop for souvenirs at Odel or Crescat Boulevard before your onward journey.
At The TravelShop, this itinerary can be adjusted to suit you — hotel category, pacing, and which stops you'd like more or less time at can all be changed to build a 4 Nights & 5 Days Sri Lanka holiday around what matters to you.
