7 Day Kerala With Backwaters

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Thekkady, enjoying a scenic journey through the green hills of Kerala.

Thekkady is home to the famous Periyar National Park, one of Kerala's most popular wildlife destinations. The region is surrounded by lush forests, cardamom plantations and scenic hills.

Depending on availability, enjoy a nature and wildlife experience around the Periyar Lake. The area is known for sightings of elephants, sambar deer, wild boar, birds and other wildlife.

Later, check in to your resort and relax. In the afternoon, visit a local spice plantation and learn about Kerala's famous cardamom, pepper, cinnamon and other spices.

After breakfast, check out and drive to beautiful Kumarakom, located on the banks of the Vembanad Lake.

Enjoy the scenic drive through Kerala's lush countryside, surrounded by coconut palms, paddy fields, villages and waterways.

On arrival in Kumarakom, visit the famous Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a peaceful natural habitat known for its beautiful surroundings and variety of resident and migratory birds.

Later, begin your much-awaited Kerala Backwaters experience. The backwaters are a fascinating network of lakes, canals, lagoons and rivers surrounded by lush greenery and traditional village life.

Board a traditional Kerala houseboat and begin a leisurely cruise through the backwaters. Relax on board while enjoying beautiful views of coconut palms, paddy fields, villages and local life along the waterways.

Enjoy an overnight stay on the houseboat.

Wake up to the peaceful surroundings of Kerala's backwaters and enjoy breakfast on board your houseboat.

Continue your cruise towards Alleppey (Alappuzha), often known as the Venice of the East because of its extensive network of canals and waterways.

Disembark from the houseboat and meet your driver for the journey towards Kovalam.

Kovalam is one of Kerala's most popular beach destinations, famous for its beautiful crescent-shaped beaches, swaying coconut palms and peaceful coastal atmosphere.

On arrival, check in to your resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Relax by the beach, explore the local surroundings or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Kovalam.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Kanyakumari, located at the southernmost tip of mainland India.

Kanyakumari is famous for its unique location where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meet. The destination is also an important spiritual and cultural centre.

Visit the famous Vivekananda Rock Memorial and explore the beautiful coastal surroundings. You can also visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue and other important attractions, subject to local conditions and availability.

Spend some time enjoying the spectacular coastal views and, if weather permits, witness the beautiful sunset over Kanyakumari.

Later, return to Kovalam.

Drive to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), the capital city of Kerala. Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy a short sightseeing tour of the city.
